this is a perfect visualization of how time passes by...
a very detailed and clear view of one brachnches, the present
blurred shades of other, moments which passed not so long ago
and finaly barely visible remains of something which is a finite past...

it's very difficult to show the passing time in only one shot
I am not sure if this is what you wanted to convey by this image but
it's my interpretation and This I see
